The Annual Mango Lassi Meeting!

Hi everyone! To kick off the year, we will be holding our first general meeting, the annual mango lassi meeting, on Thursday, October 9th. We are working on finding a spacious room to accommodate all of you, so the location is TBD for now. In addition to mango lassi, there will be snacks, FUN games (trust me, these aren't your typical boring icebreaker games), and, of course, other people to make friends with! We will also outline our plans for the year and introduce ways for you to get involved. So make sure to stop by! :)

Sher-e-Punjab Society UW strives to promote and preserve the Punjabi culture. “The Punjab”- translating to land of five rivers, traditionally encompasses the northwest frontier of modern day India and Pakistan. Today, Punjabi culture is celebrated worldwide. Punjabis are known to proudly invest in their culture that emphasizes passion and hard work. At SPS UW, we endeavor to create a supportive environment to familiarize UW students with the long-standing history and rich cultural heritage of Punjab. Through organized events and activities, we hope to present the many aspects of the vibrant Punjabi culture and what makes it unique, while at the same time spreading awareness on the cultural and religious issues that accompany Punjabis in the 21st century.
